Interview with my artist

1.      Why did you want to become an artist?

Music is in my blood, ever since I was young I have loved listening to music and I was always inspired to produce my own songs. I always had the passion and the drive to create unique sounds .I feel performing was one my strengths and the two just tied together naturally. My uncle and my cousins are involved in the music scene and they motivated me to push myself and push boundaries with my music.

2.      What has been your biggest achievement?

Everything I do I see as an achievement. Every performance, all my concerts I see as an achievement. The best thing in my career so far is being sponsored by Talent Academy. I was honoured when sponsored me, it was a good feeling to know a big company could see and support my talent.

3. What was the key to your success?

NEVER STOP GOING AND ALWAYS BELIVE IN YOURSELF.  Look after fans and they’ll look after you.

4. How is it like having a big fan base?

It’s a part of being famous (laughs). I am grateful to my fans and thank them for following and listen to my music. I always greet my fans like they are my family, you have to show respect to them and you will get respect back. The bigger the fan base the more money you get (laughs).

5. How did you feel when reaching the final of Oxford’s Got Talent, and how did you manage with the disappointment of not winning the competition?

It’s not a disappointment, I see coming second from hundreds of people, I see this as an achievement. The winner Owais, he’s a close my friend and on the day of the final he borrowed my shoes which I think is why he won the competition, just joking. I see myself as a winner I managed to secure sponsorship and Owais didn’t even though he won.

6. How do you separate your private life and from your social life?

I don’t, Music is my life. It has its place in all aspects of my day to day be that work, pleasure on my own or with friends.

7. What should we expect from latest album Mix-tape?

It’s being released in the summer but there will be many singles which will all be in my Mix-tape. Hope you enjoy my latest songs but they are going to be AMAZING. It will be mostly Hip-Hop but with some mainstream music as that the current trend and that the kind of music which will increase my popularity.

8. Which person influenced you to become a hip-hop/rap artist?

Lupe Fiasco. His music was real from which I got associate myself with. He was different from other artist at the time that was the reason I liked him. I still listen to his music as it gives me inspiration to achieve what he has and become like him one day.

9. What is like performing in front of a crowd?

The moment before going on stage can be nerve racking as you don’t know what to expect and what kind of crowd is out here, your mind has to be focused on the task ahead. When you’re on the stage you just have to have fun and enjoy yourself because if you enjoy yourself other will as well. Every stage as its own thrillers. The biggest stage I performed was at the O2 academy and it’s exciting as you have many people in the crowd, so you enjoy yourself as you are performing against other famous artists.

 10. Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

“HOPEFULLY SIGNED”, I want to be signed by a big record labels like Rocca-fella or aftermath. That’s my dream. I want to be signed by someone who will sign me as I am and let me record my music the way I want. Signed my someone who will grant me the right to publish my own music and just LET ME BE ME. I am currently signed by a local record label called BG Records they help and support me with my music.

11. What is your message/advice to other upcoming artist?

“Be yourself, you will always have hatters and whatever they say should come in through one ear and go out the other”, as there are many people who will envy you and will want to bring you down so don’t listen to them. You also have to do whatever you want and not let others people’s opinions change you. Live your dream and stay true to your sound and yourself.
